Reading Lists for Kids

My fourth grade daughter sees all the vampire and zombie books I read and wants to read them as well, which is totally not appropriate. Dulcinea saw my book, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, and was mesmerized. So I went on a quest to find vampire books for her that are age appropriate. It turns out, that was a lot harder than I thought. From now on, when I run across similar issues, I will post my findings here so others may benefit. Please review descriptions or read the books first to determine whether they are suitable or not for your children.

Lubar, David- Attack of the Vampire Weenies, Battle of the Red Hot Pepper Weenies (A), Beware the Ninja Weenies, Curse of the Campfire Weenies, In the Land of the Lawn Weenies, Invasion of the Road Weenies

Harris, Lewis- Taste for Red (A)

Howe, James- Bunnicula: A Rabbit Tale of Mystery

Mercer, Sienna- My Sister the Vampire #1- Switched, My Sister the Vampire #2- Fangtastic!, My Sister the Vampire #3- Re-Vamped!, My Sister the Vampire #4- Vampalicious!

  1. I’m so happy to have found this blog. I have a five-year-old daughter so we’re not here yet, but I can’t wait until we get to this stage of reading!
